Pittsburg native Gary Edwards, founder of Unique Rentals, began building homes in the Pittsburg area in 1977. In 1995, Gary noticed the lack of quality rental homes available in Pittsburg. After hearing about how discouraging and frustrating it was for people to find a nice place to rent, Gary decided to meet the demand of the community. In 1996, the development of the 22nd Street Edition began. This neighborhood development was very special to him as this was where his grandparents and great-grandparents lived when he was a boy. Now, there are seven homes located off of 22nd Street and Rouse, five of which are owned and maintained by Unique Rentals. After Gary’s passing in September of 2025, Unique Rentals continues to be owned and operated by his family.

Pets:
Pets are allowed on an individual basis. Pets must not weigh more than 40 pounds each. There is a pet privilege premium of $250 per pet and a monthly pet rent fee of $25 per pet.
